We where lucky enough to trial the "Eye of Horus" mascara and eye liner range and this fantastic new line has found out the Ancient Egyptians secret!

Eye of Horus is made with natural plant based ingredient's and wax's which makes it ideal for sensitive eyes as well as strengthening and lengthening your lashes naturally. 

It is very easy to apply and fits in your make up bag perfectly. I found that both the mascara and eye liner lasted all day without smudging, even after a gym session, a busy day at work and a dinner out with friends my eye make up staid on perfectly and I only needed a warm face washer to wipe it off before bed.

Ok, Well I had never even thought about what the sun was really doing to my skin. Except for the obvious one that we are all reminded everyday, that it causes cancer. But these days the experts blame everything for causing cancer (such as drinking coffee, yet the next day its good for you?!) Go figure. But it has been proven, and is a REAL fact the sun is a major player in skin cancer.

Well my shrug it off attitude really did change after being lucky enough to attend a Dermalogica bloggers launch in South Melbourne. May I add the girls in there are so informative and lovely; I would love to have a trainer like that. Also the food we were provided was yummy. In the end this turned into life changing info for me. I pledge to not leave the house without some sort of SPF on my skin (especially the kids skin). And Dermologica is my choice of sun protection. I was lucky enough to give their Oil Free Matte a go with the highest SPF available in Melbourne of SPF 30. It’s a great new product from Dermalogica available August 2012. The RRP of this product is $68.50 but a little bit will go a long way, so there is plenty of value for money.  There is no horrible oily sticky feeling with this sunscreen, which is what deterred me away from sun protection in the first place. It also has a nice light pleasant natural smell to it. After you have applied it and waited 5 minutes you wouldn’t even know you had it on!!  But your skin sure would, it acts like little mirrors reflecting the sun off your skin. So the harmful UV rays don’t damage that skin!!

What is Mandela Day?

Mandela Day is a call to action for individuals – for people everywhere – to take responsibility for changing the world into a better place, one small step at a time, just as Mr Mandela did for more than 67 years. Start by devoting 67 minutes to community service on Mandela Day, on July 18 each year, and then make every day your Mandela Day by doing some good for others.

As we enter the month of July, Nelson Mandela’s birth month and the month that brings us Mandela Day, each one of us will begin to reflect on how we are going to do our little bit in service of others.

As we prepare for our chance to give back in honour of the decades Mr Mandela spent in sacrifice so that we could live in a better world, we think of his words that it is in our hands to make a difference.

Our hands can change the world for the better. We have the power to make a difference. This is one of the most poignant messages from this great South African who looks not to celebrity and glamour but to ordinary people and their role in the world.

He could have been talking to all of us when he said this to hospital workers on 16 April 1998:

“Whether you change the linen or stitch up wounds, cook the food or dispense the medicines, it is in your hands to help build a public service worthy of all those who gave their lives for the dream of democracy.”

When we plan for Nelson Mandela International Day on 18 July this year let us not just think about our beloved Madiba turning 94 or just giving thanks that he is still with us. Rather let’s do him proud that we understand that to truly honour his legacy we should give back to our communities.

Let us keep this high in our minds as we show him and them that we are no less dedicated to the renewal of our societies.

This year 2012 is shaping up to be the biggest Mandela Day month yet, with scores of companies, government departments and other entities gearing up to play their part. So far more than 80 activities have been registered in the Mandela Day website.

Remember to devote 67mins ( not that much really, considering Nelson devoted his life!!!) to community service.

Firstly We would love to welcome you to our blog of fashion and beauty for babes with babies!!

My name is Erin. I am just your everyday mum, I am a young mummy (22) to two beautiful baby girls. Due to health I decided to have my family young, and I don’t regret in for one second! Theres never a dull moment when there two cheeky monkeys running a muck!! I live in Melbourne ( the place to be ) although don’t agree weather wise! Im now on an adventure to becoming a cool hip mum, as I lost my fashion touch when becoming a mum. I was more worried about the kids and how good they looked and forgot about myself!! One thing I never lost was my passion for beauty, I always love to buy and try new makeup and theres never a shortage in my house. I have completed a modelling and deportment course so I learnt a few tricks of the trade, this is where my love for beauty products has grown from. I love new products and friends are always the first to ask me where I got a product from!!

My name is Peta, I love to shop and everything to do with fashion. I love to keep up with the latest trends, in my room you will find a pile of fashion mags the size of a small mountain . I have been working with children for years, whether it is being their nanny or teaching them at kinder or childcare. I just love kids and can’t wait to settle down and have my own, some of the children I have nannied I could almost call my own as they have touched my heart and I have watched them grow into the little people they are today.
